The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the reason as to why there has not been any productive outcome from the previous meetings which were held between the Trade Ministry and MNCCI due to lack of implementation.
During the meeting, as a result of developing MNCCI, the problems faced by the business community will be solved within the chamber was agreed.
Speaking at the meeting, the Minister proposed to build a work plan of how to achieve the goals of MNCCI during the next 3 years. He also added that the work plan will be a solution to challenges faced by MNCCI.
The “Hilaveli” and dollar shortage issue was raised by the MNCCI members when in response; the Minister said that one billion dollars will be injected to the Maldivian economy throughout next year. The minister was questioned as to how realistic it was and he assured that it will be implemented.
Moreover, the deputy of the Minister, Mr. Ali Rasheed was placed as the focal point from the Trade Ministry.
