The Royal Kingdom of Thailand has in recent years become a significant trading partner of the Maldives. The Maldives established diplomatic relations with Thailand on 21st June 1979. The Royal Thai Consulate in Male’ will provide services to business traveler and the expatriate Thai community in the Maldives, and those who are working to enhance economic, cultural and commercial relations between the people of Thailand and Maldives. Due to the frequency that Maldivian traders and locals visit Thailand – especially to Bangkok is known for Maldives business community as an important commercial destination.
