The Maldives National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) has revealed that the organisation will elect a President once current President Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Gafoor is given the approval as Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture by the parliament.
Vice President of the organisation Ismail Asif said that following Adeeb’s appointment as Tourism minister they have begun working on the task of electing a President.
“Adeeb is still the President of this organisation. He will only lose the position once the parliament approves him as the Tourism minister. Then we will actively seek out a new President for this organisation. It can only be done by holding a general meeting, we will do so then,” he said.
Adeeb was elected the President of MNCCI after the resignation of Hamid Ismail, the chairman of Gulf Craft.
