On June 29th 2021, Maldives National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) officially introduced a new elected board. On Tuesday, at a press conference held with media, President of MNCCI, Mudrikath Moosa informed media about the board’s objective to address a COVID-19 business recovery plan.

Vice President Asiya Azeema, also informed that the board intends to reach out to all small and medium businesses in the Maldives in order to plan an effective business recovery plan.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been detrimental on the global and Maldivian economy, hence there is an urgency to formulate an effective strategy that will help all local businesses.

Ms. Asiya also highlighted that for the first time in MNCCI history, the new board includes 40% women. Hence the board is eager to focus on women entrepreneurs by collaborating and assisting in their businesses.
