In the meeting, a brief introduction of Tianjin was given by Mr. Zhao Xue Ming. Marine Chemicals and Automobile industries are located in the city of Tianjin. After 30 years of reform, new industries emerged including aero space, aviation, air force 320 aero planes, bio-fuel and etc. Tianjin is also the 3rd economic engine of China. Also, the Tianjin Chamber of Commerce has signed 100 MOUs with different countries.
As Maldives is a famous travel destination in China, the Tianjin Chamber of Commerce requested that MNCCI should collaborate with the Tourism Promotion Bureau of China and a cooperation agreement can be signed. Though many Chinese tourists visit the Maldives, a difficulty faced by them was noted by the chairman as the unavailability of brochures, leaflets and other sources of information in Chinese.
The Tianjin Chamber of Commerce invited a Maldivian delegation to visit China.
Furthermore, the MOU was signed by the Chairman; Mr. Zhao Xue Ming and the President of MNCCI; Mr. Hamid Ismail.
