Maldives National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) strongly condemns the efforts to undermine Maldives’ tourism industry amid the ongoing political crisis in the country.
The Chamber would like to highlight that such efforts to undermine the linchpin of the country’s economy for personal political gain, especially from the opposition affects local businessmen which can then to lead irrecoverable damage to the country and its people.
The Chamber would also like to note that such politically motivated efforts not only affects the government and puts the entire country and its fragile economy under threat.
The Chamber calls on the relevant authorities to take strict action against anyone attempting to undermine the economy under the guise of the present political crisis.
