The Maldives National Chamber of Commerce (MNCCI) wishes to assure the international community and foreign tourists that despite the declaration of a state of emergency in the Maldives, the country is functioning normally without any unrest or violence.
Government offices, schools and public services are available without any disruption. The chamber would also like to note that there a curfew has not been imposed and the freedom of movement has not been restricted even in the capital Male and the Maldivian people are free to go about their normal lives.
The Chamber would also like to take this opportunity to urge against any efforts both locally and internationally to undermine the invaluable tourism of the Maldives.
